  • What is it to be a “Cool Girl”?

Once somebody defined me as a “Cool Girl” and after listening to a friend’s sad love story, I started to think about my own.  I am creating “ The Diary of a Cool Girl” category to share life behind the scenes of “Being a Cool Girl” and other stories that come along with the subject. The pictures I am using is to illustrate what it means to be a “Cool Girl.”

First, let’s answer, “What is a cool girl?” She is the one that has both the looks and personality, the one that is nice, smiles and makes everybody happy. She is the real package in people’s eyes, so true that nobody would think that a person like her would have a problem getting anything in life. They believe that she has the solution to every problem and she can figure out everything. The reality is very different for this type of girl. To tell you the truth, everything for us is twice as hard to get than for anybody else. Most of the time people are scared of us and only when you are in a cool girl’s skin will you know how it works.

  • Holiday Sales Bargains and Vegan Shakes

Holiday Season is starting and I could find some great Holiday Sales bargains for Columbus Day at H&M and a great place for super natural smoothies called Summers in Soho to share with you.

It is amazing how you can build an outfit for only $14 digging through H&M’s sales racks! You can find simple dresses for only $10 witch you can accessorize in your own style and build a great day look. That’s exactly what I did with the sales bargains I found there this time. Shopping around sales items can be a little tricky, you have to be very careful  to not get lost around all these $7, $10 bargains and ending up with a bunch of unnecessary pieces in your closet. The best advice I can give you it is to get the pieces that you think you can possibly pair with others ones you already have it; and when you get home try everything mix and match and if you have a second thought that you won’t be able to wear or pair with anything just return the unnecessary items.

  • Mixing Beauty and Fashion Cocktails

A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to display and serve the drink  I created for Grand Central Beauty, The “Grand Central Beauty Caipi”, they could have their signature cocktail to be served during a meet-and-greet pop-up event in Brooklyn. And, everyone loved the fresh and cooling taste of it! As Miss Caipi, I create signature cocktails for companies, so they can have their personalized cocktail using in their parties, Events or as a type of brand identity for their business.

Miss Caipi, as you noticed always wear her yellow looks wherever she passes around sharing her Brazilian happiness and cocktails. For this Event she was wearing a yellow romper paired with a rockbox blue necklace and carrying  her satchel yellow bag with all her mixology tools.

  • Meat Market for Dinner Tonight!

Looking for a nice restaurant for dinner in South Beach, Florida? Meat Market is my recommendation! I finished my trip to Miami with a delicious seasonal dinner at this fantastic place. They have numerous other locations in Florida, but the one I always go to is the original location on Lincoln Road in South Beach.

Nice ambience, modern decor, trendy crowd, a hot spot for models; you can chat with interesting people while lounging in the bar. Or, you can run into the love of your life there who may be sitting right next you. You never know!

The kitchen is run by chef Sean Brasel, one of the most renowned chefs in Miami. With his creativity and versatility, a classy steakhouse taste is combined with a modern touch of today which surely takes a good effort and ability to achieve such a great combination. And he most definitely has perfected it! Chef Sean has a range of options for all the tastes in his menu, catering to a salad person like me with his delicious Quinoa Salad. Or, if you’re a big fan of seafood you can start with a fresh ceviche. And, if you are a steak lover, it’s his specialty.

Obviously, for my drink I was having my refreshing Mint Caipi specially made for me by the bar. Their drink menu has different tropical drinks using herbs and refreshing ingredients. The Lychee Martini and Mojito are excellent options for a seasonal drink. I highly recommend trying them.

  • Celebrate the 4th of July With the Ginger Caipi

Celebrating July 4th with the Ginger Caipi! The celebration, the fireworks, and not to mention it’s a nice break from work during the hottest time of the year.

Independence day in Brazil is right after the end of August, on September 7th. But even though it’s in the fall months of the year, Brazil still gets pretty hot around that time much. Like in New York City, people gather in parades on the streets of Rio de Janeiro and party during Independence Day. There’s always good food and music. I always cherished the time I could spend with my extended family. Here in New York City, I love watching the fireworks over the Hudson river and partying with my friends, sharing with them my favorite drink: The Ginger Caipi. You can make the Ginger Caipi too, by following my easy steps.

Since I’m Brazilian I wanted to keep my culture alive with this drink so I used Cachaca but you can chose either Vodka or Sake to attain the same taste. I have mixed together the tanginess of lemon with the sweetness of the agave nectar light for a healthy and flavorful drink. I know a lot of people who dislike ginger, but the lemon and agave nectar counteracts the strong kick and only leaves a very mild taste that I promise is very refreshing. (more…)
