  • XOXO Caipi

    xoxo valentine's day caipi drink

Since Valentine’s day is dedicated to embrace friendship and our loved ones, there is nothing better than celebrating with a personalized Valentine’s day cocktail. The XOXO Caipi is a personalized cocktail created for my sweet friend, Melissa Fiore.

Melissa is a very sweet girl and loves everything that are kisses & hugs themed. From bags, shoes, clothing… You name it, she has it! If you visit her blog,  Melissa Fiore blog , and her instagram page, you can get a better idea of Melissa’s style.

This Caipi contains a low sugar content, which Melissa adores since she is a strict dieter and a lover of natural ingredients. The drink also has an organic strawberry mix. I used Sake according to her preference, orange liqueurs, and coconut water. It turned out really tasty. The XOXO Caipi can be done in a non alcoholic version too by replacing the orange liqueur for orange juice and eliminating the Sake.  (more…)

  • Studio 54 Caipi

    caipi disco drink cocktail studio54

What inspired this new caipi is the classic “Grasshopper” drink. The Grasshopper consisted of a sweet and creamy delicacy. Much like this martini, the “Studio 54” Caipi provides the same tasteful experience, but instead substitutes the fresh cream with coconut milk and includes fresh fruit. “Studio 54” can also be a non-alcoholic drink by excluding the liquor listed below. Enjoy!

    Studio 54 Caipi

1.5 oz. Cachaca, Vodka, or Sake

    2 oz. Coconut milk

    ½ pear

    4 mint leaves

    2 ice cubes

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until you have a smooth consistency.

Garnish with mint leaves and a disco ball!

  • Wonderwall Caipi

I said maybe you are going to be the one that saves me and after all you are my Wonderwall!

While reading this post, make sure you listen to the music in the link above. You can’t skip out on Wonderwall…

As Miss Caipi, I always wanted to make people feel special through my cocktails’ creations. As a birthday gift to myself, I decided to create my own personalized Caipi named after one of my favorite songs, Wonderwall. I am now introducing my very own Carla Anapurus Caipi, “Wonderwall.” It was a challenge picking out a name because Oasis is one of my favorite bands and I couldn’t choose a song! Between “Champagne Supernova” and “Supersonic” where she has a Gin and tonic it came  The “Wonderwall Caipi”.

  • Ziggy Stardust- Carla Style

    “I catch a paper boy… But things don’t really change… I’m standing in the wind… But I never wave bye-bye!”

    ziggy stardust

Can you guess that tune?! Well if not, I am here to share the wonderful and unforgettable David Bowie. Those lines were from my favorite song, Modern love, which is from his album titled “Let’s Dance.” You can listen to the tune while reading the post…

ziggy stardustDavid Bowie was one of the most creative artists of his time. If you remember David Bowie, you will remember him as Ziggy Stardust. Bowie was inspired to create the Ziggy Stardust image from the 60’s musician, Stardust Cowboy. Ziggy Stardust emerged in the early 70’s, I am fascinated by his music, unique style, vibrant make-up, the spacey costumes, and the idea of someone creating a new persona. Although Ziggy Stardust lasted for a year before Bowie reappeared, Ziggy performed with the band “The Spiders from Mars” in the years 1972-73. This opportunity granted Bowie the recognition as one of the most popular artists in musical history.ziggy stardust

  • What is a Brazilian Cocktail?

Many people are not exposed to the deliciousness of a Brazilian cocktail. The most common question I receive from others when discussing mixology is, “What is a Brazilian cocktail?” The best way to describe a Brazilian cocktail is this: it is a light, refreshing, and natural drink. It is so refreshing, you will crave a second round. Brazil’s national drink is the “Caipirinha,” which is a simple and exhilarating drink mixed with limes, sugar, and cachaca. All of the drinks I create are called, “Caipi,” which is a shorter term for “Caipirinha.” Now the main ingredient, the cachaça, is our national spirit which is made of pure sugar cane juice. A Brazilian cocktail is not necessarily made with cachaca, for it can be created with other spirits as well. My personal favorite is the “Caipi Vodka,” which is also known as “Caipiroska.”

For my original “Caipi,” the recipe consists of limes, agave nectar light (replacing sugar as a natural sweetener) and using the spirits: Cachaca, Vodka, Bourbon, Sake.

1.5 oz of Cachaca or Vodka or Sake or Bourbon

0.5 oz of Agave nectar light

    1/2 lime

    Recipe:

Cut the lime in a half and after in 4 wedges, place the lime wedges and agave nectar light in a shaker and muddle all together, then place the liquor and the ice and do a really good shake to get a well balanced Original Caipi.
