For those who aren’t aware of the vibrant, Brazilian Party atmosphere that lives within the streets of NYC, now is perfect time to expand outside the ordinary. Since the Rio 2016 Olympics kicked off , I have decided to go on a tour throughout New York City to try some unique Brazilian foods and cocktails that go along with the fun festivities. These are the recommendations that have won gold in my book.
My first stop was with the Sarau Brazilian Party at the Hotel Chantelle in the LES. It was such a hidden gem! Hotel Chantelle is a parisian style restaurant and bar; It offers an exclusive rooftop lounge area where the Sarau Party kicks off every Sunday during the summer and once a month after the season.(more…)
I am very excited the Olympic Games are happening in Brazil this year, and even more special is that it is in Rio, my hometown. I always loved watching the competitions and I admire the dedication and motivation of all the athletes competing at the Olympic Games.
The Olympic Games represent the union of all the continents in one place sharing all the energy surrounded by the Event. To celebrate all the confraternization created by the Olympics, I was inspired to make the “The Olympic Caipi Cocktails”, mixed with natural ingredients found in Brazil: Guarana, fresh coconut water, and different fruits to represent the ring colors.(more…)
Looking for a nice restaurant for dinner in South Beach, Florida? Meat Market is my recommendation! I finished my trip to Miami with a delicious seasonal dinner at this fantastic place. They have numerous other locations in Florida, but the one I always go to is the original location on Lincoln Road in South Beach.
Nice ambience, modern decor, trendy crowd, a hot spot for models; you can chat with interesting people while lounging in the bar. Or, you can run into the love of your life there who may be sitting right next you. You never know!
The kitchen is run by chef Sean Brasel, one of the most renowned chefs in Miami. With his creativity and versatility, a classy steakhouse taste is combined with a modern touch of today which surely takes a good effort and ability to achieve such a great combination. And he most definitely has perfected it! Chef Sean has a range of options for all the tastes in his menu, catering to a salad person like me with his delicious Quinoa Salad. Or, if you’re a big fan of seafood you can start with a fresh ceviche. And, if you are a steak lover, it’s his specialty.

I was in Miss Caipi’s colors wearing a yellow flowing dress, by Bebe, paired with a green aqua necklace combined with my Miami sun-kissed tan! For dinner I had the famous Quinoa Salad. Obviously, for my drink I was having my refreshing Mint Caipi specially made for me by the bar. Their drink menu has different tropical drinks using herbs and refreshing ingredients. The Lychee Martini and Mojito are excellent options for a seasonal drink. I highly recommend trying them.

I ended my dinner with a sorbet made from a selection of a tropical fruits, a perfect end to a hot sunny day. For the grand finale Chef Sean stopped by for a quick chat before I left, between his cooking and chopping, to share his inspirations, secrets and suggestions for his summer menu. As a creator myself I love to exchange ideas with the great masters in the business: (more…)
Celebrating July 4th with the Ginger Caipi! The celebration, the fireworks, and not to mention it’s a nice break from work during the hottest time of the year.
Independence day in Brazil is right after the end of August, on September 7th. But even though it’s in the fall months of the year, Brazil still gets pretty hot around that time much. Like in New York City, people gather in parades on the streets of Rio de Janeiro and party during Independence Day. There’s always good food and music. I always cherished the time I could spend with my extended family. Here in New York City, I love watching the fireworks over the Hudson river and partying with my friends, sharing with them my favorite drink: The Ginger Caipi. You can make the Ginger Caipi too, by following my easy steps.
Since I’m Brazilian I wanted to keep my culture alive with this drink so I used Cachaca but you can chose either Vodka or Sake to attain the same taste. I have mixed together the tanginess of lemon with the sweetness of the agave nectar light for a healthy and flavorful drink. I know a lot of people who dislike ginger, but the lemon and agave nectar counteracts the strong kick and only leaves a very mild taste that I promise is very refreshing.(more…)
Memorial Day weekend is coming and that means bbq and a summer drink! The long weekend is the ideal time to host a party, to not only celebrate the braveries of soldiers who have died for their country but to celebrate family and friends. Memorial Day gives that chance to relax and appreciate each other.
Cinco de Mayo seems like one of those days I spend the entire year waiting for. I have all these plans for this special day and BAM! here it is finally! I made a special Ginger Caipi to share with you all for this holiday.
Yes winter is here and we can all feel it in the air! Our first blizzard has approached and because of the cold, we are constantly seeking comfort in our beds. Although most people might prefer to stay indoors during this winter season, a night out in the city wouldn’t hurt, right?
In the Upper West Side, there are some cute hangout spots for you to enjoy with others or in solitude. My list includes a local bar and a unique establishment that provides a fun and comfortable atmosphere for everyone.(more…)
I said maybe you are going to be the one that saves me and after all you are my Wonderwall!
While reading this post, make sure you listen to the music in the link above. You can’t skip out on Wonderwall…
As Miss Caipi, I always wanted to make people feel special through my cocktails’ creations. As a birthday gift to myself, I decided to create my own personalized Caipi named after one of my favorite songs, Wonderwall. I am now introducing my very own Carla Anapurus Caipi, “Wonderwall.” It was a challenge picking out a name because Oasis is one of my favorite bands and I couldn’t choose a song! Between “Champagne Supernova” and “Supersonic” where she has a Gin and tonic it came The “Wonderwall Caipi”.
